Giorgio Armani , mago de la moda
in duda a este diseñador se le relaciona con la ropa masculina que,
realmente, es con la que comienza, pero es muy corto el periodo de
tiempo que pasa hasta que se embauca también con la femenina.
La vida de Giorgio Armani da un giro inesperado, estudia Medicina y tras
cumplir el servicio militar es cuando empieza a trabajar de una manera u
otra relacionada con la moda, trabaja como escaparatista durante unos
años. Más tarde creará la firma italiana junto a su socio Galeotti,
quien desgraciadamente muere once años más tarde, y de aquí a una
espiral que le llevará a ser uno de los hombres más ricos del mundo.
Giorgio Armani es garantía a la hora de vestir, sus adjetivos sin duda
son clásico, elegante y minimalista. De ahí que sean muchas las
estrellas del cine que se decanten por el diseñador italiano a la hora
de un gran evento, estrellas femeninas y masculinas, siendo el esmoquin
de Giorgio Armani uno de los más habituales en la alfombra roja. En la
siguiente fotografía podemos ver a George Clooney vestido de Armani,
para el modisto uno de los hombres más elegantes.
No creamos que el modisto italiano solo viste a celebridades del séptimo
arte, también equipos de Inglaterra e Italia, además de la compañía
aérea italiana Alitalia, son vestidos por el diseñador. Aunque fue su
relación con el mundo del cine lo que le abrió las puertas a Estados
Unidos, exactamente cuando vistió a Richard Gere en la película American
Gigoló en el 80, no sería hasta unos años más tarde cuando la revista
Time le dedica una portada a Giorgio Armani.
Siendo un gran empresario, como no cabía duda, se ha lanzado a otros
ámbitos como la perfumería o la cosmética, logrando también en ellos un
reconocido éxito. Consciente de que tiene precios inalcanzables para
muchos, creó Emporio Armani, almacenes donde se venden desde gafas hasta
perfumes o chocolatinas, todos con el sello Armani y con precios menos
elevados.
Es un hombre convencido de que hay que reinventarse y que no todo está
conseguido, aunque no por ello de sienta insatisfecho con su vida, el
propio modisto explica “estoy convencido de haber llegado a un punto en
el que debo recomenzar todo desde el principio. Tengo que ser capaz de
ponerme a mí mismo en tela de juicio. Empezar siempre es positivo, más
que llegar”.
Así pues, Armani es un sello de identidad en muchos ámbitos desde la
ropa a los bolsos de piel, los zapatos o los perfumes, pero también es
un ejemplo de generosidad siendo uno de los embajadores de buena
voluntad de ACNUR.
