Enrique Loewe inaugura en Ubrique un máster de diseño en piel
“Una aventura apasionante para respirar la tradición del trabajo
artesanal”. Con estas palabras definió Enrique Loewe Lynch el máster de
diseño en piel organizado por Movex y el Centro Superior de Moda de la
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid en el acto inaugural, celebrado el 8
de marzo de 2013 en las nuevas instalaciones del centro tecnológico en
Ubrique. El presidente de la Fundación Loewe subrayó “la importancia de
los artesanos de la localidad en la historia de su compañía, que se han
constituido como un aliado silencioso y fundamental en la fabricación de
sus bolsos”.

En un comunicado difundido el 14 de marzo de 2013, Movex señaló: “De
la mano de estos experimentados artesanos y junto con el apoyo creativo
de diseñadores de la talla de Stuart Vevers, Nicolás Vaudelet y José
Castro, veinte alumnos de distintos lugares de España se sumergirán
durante tres meses en el mundo de los secretos de la piel.
El acto de inauguración del máster fue aprovechado para presentar las
nuevas instalaciones del Centro Tecnológico de la Piel de Andalucía. Con
una inversión que ronda los cuatro millones de euros, el nuevo centro
cuenta con una estación de lavado, teñido y secado, otra de bordado
industrial, un centro de impresión en piel y salas especializadas
pensadas y dispuestas para el uso creativo de los diseñadores.
De esta manera, tanto el Centro Tecnológico como el máster se consolidan
como una primera piedra para potenciar un espacio de creación
internacional en Ubrique, municipio que factura unos 50 millones de
euros al año en exportación.
En palabras de Javier Gallego, director del centro, es una oportunidad única. Inunda a Ubrique de diseño. Es, además, un paso de esperanza para la piel“.
